Watch Dogs: Legion and Assassin's Creed Crossover in August; Ubisoft Reveals Roadmap

Ubisoft does not stop developing Watch Dogs: Legion. At the end of June we will get the Bloodline expansion, in which characters from previous installments of the series will return, while in August - a crossover with the Assassin's Creed series.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Ubisoft revealed a roadmap for Watch Dogs: Legion;
  • The biggest news is the Bloodline expansion, announced for June, which will see the return of familiar characters Aiden Pearce and Wrench;
  • August will see the release of a special event in WD: Legion, which will bring back themes from the Assassin's Creed series.

Watch Dogs: Legion, released in November, hasn't lost Ubisoft's interest despite mediocre reviews. Today, the French publisher revealed details about the game's further development in "Year 1". We finally learned when the Bloodline expansion pack - the main attraction of the season pass - will be released, as well as about new content, including contracts and characters that will appear in the game over the next few months. As an extra treat - especially for fans of the Assassin's Creed series - Darcy, a member of the Assassin Order, will be joining DedSec as part of a crossover between the two brands announced for August.

New content will begin appearing in the game in April - both for season pass holders and players of the basic version of WD: Legion. For starters, we'll get a new playable character - Mina Sidhu, who was once a research subject and now has the power of mind control - and an additional mission. There will also be more co-op assignments and quests, as well as an improved character editor and two more agents to recruit.

May will bring only free content (including a second tactical mission). In June, we'll play Bloodline, which will offer a completely new story, taking place before the events presented in Legion. We'll be able to play as our old friends again - Aiden Pearce and Wrench, the protagonists of Watch Dogs and Watch Dogs 2. It's worth noting that all the new characters will be playable in both single and multiplayer modes (at least on consoles, because the launch of the latter on PC was once again delayed), and each of them is to be unique in his own way and bring new possibilities to the game.

Once we finish enjoying the expansion, Ubisoft will offer us an event associated with the Assassin's Creed series. It will be free and all players will be able to take part in it. Season Pass holders will receive a new heroine - the aforementioned Darcy - and a few missions dedicated to hooded assassins. The crossover isn't scheduled until August, so we'll know all the details we need to know by then.

Free weekend with Watch Dogs: Legion

And if you haven't played Watch Dogs: Legion yet and would like to check this title out, it will be available for free this coming weekend, that is from March 25 to 28 (on PC, PS4, PS5, XONE and XSX|S). It will require bit of downloading, though - the pre-load will be unlocked on March 24 - but I think it's worth the load on your bandwidth to see for yourself how the new Watch Dogs runs. Who knows, maybe you'll like Ubisoft's game so much that you'll decide to buy? If so, you can count on a discount of up to 50%.
