Warzone and Black Ops - Cold War Season 3 Begins With a Bang
The inaugural event of season 3 in Call of Duty: Warzone and CoD: Black Ops - Cold War has begun. As part of it, an atomic bomb was detonated in Verdansk, and players can expect a lot of novelties.
The undead invasion in Call of Duty: Warzone has already spread throughout Verdansk and even players have started turning into zombies (via Twitter). In this situation, there was only one option left - to start the third season of the game by detonating a nuke. This is how a new eventbegan in Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War. Before that, however, we need to download update 1.36, weighing: 25.6 GB on PlayStation consoles, 25.9 GB on Xbox and 25.2 GB on PC.
As you can easily guess, the explosion will leave a mark on Verdansk. After the inaugural event, there will be a number of 1980s-inspired changes to the map, including new points of interest and a changed looks for existing locations. Players can see the explosion with their own eyes, because during the game the killed participants are transformed into zombies, which quickly take over the entire map. Unfortunately, many have been unable to experience this live for now, as the servers are having trouble accommodating the huge number of interested parties wanting to join the game (via Reddit). The event will culminate with the evacuation of the operators, which was planned to end on 2 PM PT. After that hour we will be able to see what atomic Verdansk looks like.
The third season is also another challenge for players in the form of the Hunt for Adler event. As the name suggests, it focuses on Russell Adler, one of the charactes from Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War. Adler was captured during the second season and now players will have to find him by taking on a series of challenges in Warzone and Black Ops: Cold War. In return, they will receive a handful of valuable items, including an exclusive skin for their operative.
Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War didn't get to see the flash, but they still can't complain about lack of content. Four new maps will come to the game: Yamantau, Diesel, Standoff and Duga. Players will be able to test themselves in two new gameplay modes. One of them will be Sticks & Stones, well known to fans of previous installments of the Black Ops sub-cycle and depriving players of all modern weapons. The second is a novelty in the form of Multi-Team Elimination, which is de facto a team battle royale within the Fireteam mode.
There are also new features in the zombie mode (including Duga region), vehicles, weapons (including PPSh-41), operators and much more. A full description of the new features can be found in an entry on Treyarch's official website. The list of changes should appear after the event on Raven Software's website.
