Vikings: Wolves of Midgard is a Nordic clone of Diablo coming out early next year
Vikings: Wolves of Midgard is a hack-and-slash based on the Nordic mythology, announced by Kalypso Media for early 2017. Will you save your people from the Ragnarok and manage to stay alive during the coldest winter in history?
Kalypso Media have revealed an upcoming Nordic clone of Diablo entitled Vikings: Wolves of Midgard, in development by Games Farm. This action RPG is coming out to PC (Steam), Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 in early 2017.
Ragnarok, the great war of beasts and giants (Jotan) against the Gods of Asgard, is raging on, while the coldest winter in history makes it extra hard for people to survive. Set in the Shores of Midgard, a fantasy land inspired by Nordic mythology, Vikings: Wolves of Midgard lets you play as a chief of a Viking clan, whose village gets destroyed by the giants. Determinded to rebuild your home and save the realm from total annihilation you pick up your weapon and fight to drive the enemy back to their realm.
In terms of gameplay Vikings: Wolves of Midgard is based on the core mechanics of action RPG genre. There are a couple of features, though, that set the title apart from other hack-and-slash games, such as detrimental effects of exposure to cold, collecting blood from fallen enemies and sacrificing it for the gods in order to enhance your powers, as well as the option to rebuild and manage your village. These and other features are discussed in the video preview by GameWatcher. Visit Kalypso’s website to learn more about the game.
