Better loot and seasonal endgame for casuals. Here's what Diablo 4 season 7 will bring
Season of Witchcraft in Diablo 4 features big changes in class balance and many useful improvements, but we still have to wait for a better endgame.
Diablo 4 in the Season of Witchcraft will finally introduce further changes that players of this hack'n'slash have long demanded.
The previously announced Blizzard Entertainment stream provided new information about the updates that Diablo 4 will receive, and the developer also revealed a full list of changes. A significant part of it consists of gameplay balance modifications and bug fixes - both in the base version of the game and in the Vessel of Hatred expansion.
Better loot and gameplay comfort
Nonetheless, the developers are also preparing more general gameplay improvements, rather than just nerfing or buffing individual classes. For instance, they are giving necromancers many aspects of spiritualists related to blocking. Developers also want to deal with two long-standing issues: disappointing loot and too frequent backtracking.
This first "malfunction" will be fixed in several ways. One of these changes will include enhancing the weakest legendary affixes for ancestral items, ensuring that their minimum bonus cannot be lower than the maximum value of non-ancient variants. Moreover, such ancient equipment will drop much more frequently than before, just like elixirs from elite mobs.
In turn, "backtracking" will partially limit the unlocking of class powers for all characters after finishing a special quest once (even if it was completed in previous seasons). So far, every new character had to repeat that quest.
Helpful improvements will also appear in other elements of Diablo 4. We have already mentioned the improvements to the Tree of Whispers, and in addition to that, the developers will make the seasonal journey more accessible for casuals. The first chapters have been redesigned to facilitate reaching the endgame, and the last ones have been modified to be full of "more ambitious challenges." Furthermore, the reward for completing the season will be the first flying pet: Dorian.
This is complemented by many other improvements, including those dictated by player feedback after public tests. The article is available on Blizzard's website and we encourage you to familiarize yourself with it - there are really a lot of changes. These essentially please the players, but the same cannot be said about the contents of the 7th season, which are somewhat too similar to those from previous events in Diablo IV.
The Season of Witchcraft will start in Diablo 4 on January 21 at 10:00 a.m. PT.
