Images From Valve's Would-be Space Pirate Game Stars of Blood
Stars of Blood could have been a breath of fresh air and added something new to Valve as a game developer. Unfortunately, the only thing we got in connection with this project were concept arts, which leaked online years later.
There could have been more to Valve than Half-Life and Portal... It seems that Gabe Newell's company was working on a game about space pirates, which was to be called Stars of Blood. A few concept arts of the game have been leaked online.
Unfortunately, apart from the revealed images and theme, there are no additional details about the title. It seems to be one of Valve's experimental games that never saw the light of day - and this is unlikely to change. In 2012, rumors surfaced and it was eventually confirmed that Stars of Blood was in development, but we didn't receive any more information. The game was consigned to the dustbin of history, so to speak.

The drawings found online show a variety of environments, so it's likely that the game would have included desert planets, as well as urban dystopias reminiscent of Night City from Cyberpunk 2077. While the concept arts look amazing, it's hard to expect that it would have been technologically possible to create such locations back then. In 2012, the graphically stunning Far Cry 3 came out, but the same year Valve released CS: Global Offensive, which was anything but a visual revolution.
Concept arts were shared by Obscure Game Aesthetics' twitter profile. You will find them below.
