Valheim's Hearth & Home Update Launches Today With Plenty of New Features
Today marks the release of Valheim: Hearth & Home - the first major update to the popular Viking survival game. The developers have provided fans with many interesting new features.
Valheim almost instantly won the hearts of players and unexpectedly became a global hit. The game debuted in early access this winter - since then the developers did not introduce any major innovations. However, today, i.e. on September 16 2021, they made up for it and finally released the first major update, titled Hearth & Home.
The changes include, among others, the weapon balance. Bows have been weakened and two-handed axes buffed. In addition the developers have heavily modified the food system - health and stamina points no longer affect each other. You can also vomit on demand to make room in your stomach for other meals you need. New recipes and ingredients have also been added.
The developers recommend playing from scratch on the updated version of the game, because a new biome has been introduced, which appears only in areas not visited by the user. Players who have already discovered the entire map cannot visit the new environment.
Interestingly, in the monthly summary of work on the game, the developers admitted that they do not want to reveal all the novelties introduced by the update, so as not to rob players of the joy of exploring them. However, if the topic interests you, we encourage you to watch the long video, in which the developers discuss the update extensively:
Valheim is currently only available in Steam's Early Access.
