Throne and Liberty Achieves Peak of 326,000 Concurrent Players on Steam. „This Game Is for You - And We Plan to Make That as Evident as Humanly Possible”
Throne and Liberty successfully launched on Steam in terms of activity scores. However, the reception of the game is spoiled by technical problems, but the developers have already started fixing them.
Yesterday saw the official premiere of Throne and Liberty, a Korean free-to-play MMORPG from NCSoft, on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. We write "official" because people who bought special bonus packages started the fun a few days earlier. Crowds were waiting for this debut, so it's worth taking a look at how it went.
- The reception of the game is mixed - on Steam, the game has currently only 54% positive reviews. Players complain about technical issues, unrefined combat system, and pay-to-win elements (we wrote more about the game's monetization in July ).
- Technical issues are numerous. Right after the debut, many people had great difficulty logging into the servers. Problems with a black screen appearing, which prevents further play, are also quite common. Many people also report an error that often prevents the creation of a character (in this case, the devs have already informed that they are working on its removal).
- Players like the graphics, the world, and the adventures.
- Despite these complaints, Throne and Liberty achieves impressive activity results. Yesterday's record was 326,377 concurrent players on Steam.
As you can see, the game is very popular. Of course, judging by the poor reviews, if the devs do not make changes quickly, they may lose players rapidly. It is clear that despite the complaints, the players are eager to continue playing - so the game has the potential to retain a large part of the community.
The creators are struggling with technical issues.
The devs are trying to solve the main problems. First of all, they launched a lot of new servers, including several for Europe, which reduced login difficulties. Initially, the Auction House did not work properly in EU countries and was temporarily disabled, but it did not take long to implement fixes and it is now available again.
The devs promise further improvements and the implementation of changes suggested by the players. In a statement published on Steam, they stated:
"We intend to continue listening to the opinions of players and delve into the data provided by them. This game is for you - and we plan to make it as obvious as possible."
