Unusual Site Is Most Likely Teaser for New Call of Duty. Game Announcement Should Highlight Xbox Games Showcase 2024
Mysterious videos appeared on a new website. They are likely teasers of the upcoming installment of the Call of Duty series, the supposed CoD: Black Ops 6.
UPDATE
An informant going by the alias billbil-kun shared a blurry cover image of the new Call of Duty on X - or at least that's what he claims. He pointed out that he edited it himself and has no plans to publish the original version for the time being. However, if he really does have access to it, this suggests that the announcement of the next CoD is very close.
Original news
Fans of the Call of Duty series are probably already looking forward to the next installment of this almost cult-like shooter series, hoping to play a slightly better game than last year's Modern Warfare III. Such people may be interested in a certain website called "The Truth Lies," which contains videos that are most likely teasers of the new CoD.
The initial footage captures a group of people strolling in a "federally closed-off area" near Mount Rushmore. While the video itself doesn't reveal much, it can be assumed that the action of the new Call of Duty game will take place in South Dakota, as the mountain featured in the film is located in that state.
The discussed teaser almost certainly relates to the rumored Black Ops 6 (potentially titled Gulf War). It appears that the other materials made by the "real" actors will soon be "uncovered" - currently there are two, but there are supposed to be a total of six, as indicated by the number of channels on the old TV visible on the page.
It seems that we won't have to wait long for the official announcement of the new CoD. In the first video, a statue of one of the presidents is covered by a ribbon with the logo of (presumably) Cerberus, and in the second the logo is placed on a poster. The same symbol was used in a graphic advertisement for the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase. Microsoft will probably share information about the rumored Black Ops 6 on June 9.
We know that the upcoming Call of Duty game is developed by the American studio Treyarch, which has developed, among others, Black Ops I, II, III, Cold War, or CoD: World at War.
