Serum - Coop and Multiplayer Explained
Would you like to play Serum with friends? We will tell you if it is possible.
Survival games are one of the most popular genres of the recent years. Because so many titles gathered a substantial number of players, more and more developers want to add something to the trend. Serum offers, at least theoretically, an interesting titular mechanic – brewing different “potions” to keep our character alive (quite literally) and boost their abilities. We have to wait a few days to experience that ourselves and decide if it is any good. However, we can already talk about something else – multiplayer, as many players would like to have fun with friends.
Update: The original news stated that Serum multiplayer will be available on EA launch. Developers have changed plans a little bit to polish the mode even more, so we have adjusted the guide accordingly.
Serum – Coop and Multiplayer Explained
Many people like their games single, however far not all of them. For numerous gamers multiplayer component is very important, to the extend that their decision to buy given title depends on this mode. Of course, some productions are simply better with trusty companions. So, what about Serum? Will it have a coop mode?
The answer is “yes”. In the official FAQ on Discord server, we can read that:
Q: Will Serum include multi-player?
A: The game will offer cooperative multiplayer that will be introduced during the early access stage.
As you can see, we can expect multiplayer during early access. We don’t know much about it for now – for example there is no information about max number of players. Well, we will see more details soon in the future.
Remember that Serum is in early access, and not everything may work as intended on day 1. Very often, the most troublesome aspect is multiplayer and connection issues. So, keep that in mind.
