Ubisoft Will Make a Movie About Senior CS:GO Team
The world of e-sport is dominated by young people. There is a widespread belief that it is necessary to start as early as possible to achieve something in this environment. These rules have nothing to do with the members of the professional team in CS-GO composed exclusively of seniors - Silver Snipers. Everything seems to indicate that they will soon see their own movie.
IN A NUTSHELL
- Ubisoft plans to make a movie inspired by the story of Silver Snipers - a professional senior CS:GO team.
- Silver Snipers have already managed to make a name for themselves in the history of gaming as Senior World Champions of CS:GO.
- The movie is produced by the creators of I Feel Pretty
Who said eSports is for the young? Silver Snipers is the world's first professional seniors' CS:GO team, and its members are, in total, over 351 years old. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the history of the team described in The Wall Street Journal has caught Ubisoft's attention. The French publisher decided to make a movie based on it.
The story is certainly interesting, because it is unusual to find an esports team, where all members are over 65 years old. But it is not the only such team. In 2019, the first Senior World Championship in CS:GO took place, in which Silver Snipers triumphed. The team's coach is Fredrik Andersson aka "Jaegarn", a former CS:GO professional. It's definitely worth visiting the team's website where you can find information about the players.
So far, the movie inspired by the story of seniors does not even have a title. However, it is known that Ubisoft has started working with Abby Kohn and Mark Silverstein, co-authors and co-directors of I Feel Pretty, a comedy starring the well-known American stand-upper and actress Amy Schumer.
It seems that Ubisoft is trying harder and harder to enter large and small screens. We have already informed that the French publisher plans to make animated shows based on Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and Watch Dogs. We also wrote about the fact that, together with Netflix, the company is preparing an adaptation of The Division franchise. It seems that this will be another title in their movie portfolio.
