Well-known and verified insider Tom Henderson suggested that Ubisoft is planning a major event to showcase up to 20 games.
The company has reportedly been preparing for the event for quite some time and wants to hold it before this year's E3. With the event, the company would like to avoid competing for players' attention with other big publishers.
Henderson claims that Ubisoft intends to show new trailers, gameplays and materials to inform fans about the progress of various titles. Among them there are many highly anticipated productions.
What will Ubisoft show?
The French company is working on many projects simultaneously. Among them are both new high-budget productions, remakes, smaller projects and mobile games. Their list looks really impressive.
Skull & Bones
Skull & Bones has had a bumpy development process. For a long time the title has been stuck in development hell, but it seems to be finally getting back on track.
This is indicated at least by the search for testers for the game. Apparently Ubisoft has finally decided the game's direction and is ready to show the title to players.
Skull & Bones is one of the games to be presented during the planned event of the French publisher. The title will be an online live-service game which will focus exclusively on sea battles.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
During the event we are also supposed to see new materials from Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. This is another work of Ubisoft, which has been in development for a long time.
The game's release has already been postponed, but now the works are supposed to be heading in the right direction. Tom Henderson claims that a new trailer will be presented during the event. Moreover, the creators are to share more information about the project.
According to Henderson, the game's testing will also begin this week.
The Division: Heartland
The Division: Heartland is a title which, according to Henderson's sources, is almost ready. Its presentation may therefore take place at the same time as announcement of its imminent release.
The game will be a free-to-play FPS set in the universe of The Division. Among other inspirations the creators mention Escape from Tarkov.
The Division: Heartland is being developed by Red Storm Entertainment. The studio has previously worked on a number of Tom Clancy's games.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising from 2020 did quite well. No wonder then that Ubisoft decided to commission work on a sequel.
So far, these are just rumors, as the game has not been officially announced. According to Henderson, however, it is in pre-production stage and the studio responsible for the project is Ubisoft Quebec.
The upcoming event is expected to announce work on the game.
Assassin's Creed Rift
Assassin's Creed Rift is a rather mysterious installment of the series. The first information about the title appeared online in February this year. They show that it will be a spin-off, initially planned as DLC to Valhalla.
Rift is to enable players to impersonate Basim, a character known from the latest part of the series. During the adventure we would learn about his earlier fates.
The game is to offer gameplay on a much smaller scale. Instead of a huge open world and a lot of activities, it's supposed to provide stealth experience closer to the earlier installments of the series.
According to Henderson, the game will be officially announced at the upcoming event and will debut in the first half of 2023.
Assassin's Creed Infinity
Rift will not be the only Assassin present at the presentation. According to Henderson, Ubisoft will also share new information about Assassin's Creed Infinity.
Perhaps the company will shed some more light on the supposedly most ambitious installment of the series. Infinity is supposed to be a huge live-service game and a kind of hub, which will enable the devs to regularly provide players with new adventures in the popular universe.
Unfortunately, we do not know anything more about the aforementioned game. The upcoming event may therefore be a good opportunity to explain to the players what they are actually waiting for.
Two divisions of Ubisoft are working on the title - studios from Montreal and Quebec. According to Henderson, the game will debut in 2024 or 2025.
Ghost Recon: Frontline
Ghost Recon: Frontline is a free-to-play FPS set in the popular universe. According to Ubisoft, it is being developed based on suggestions and feedback from fans.
However, players were not convinced about the vision of the French publisher. Indeed, the game was met with harsh criticism from those who took part in the closed tests.
Frontline is supposedly a typical battle royale title that does not offer the players anything new. In addition, the game was supposed to be one of the games offering the possibility of buying NFTs, which also aroused a lot of controversy.
However, the French publisher apparently does not write off its game just yet. It is to appear on the upcoming presentation and perhaps it will be a good opportunity to convince skeptical players.
XDefiant
XDefiant is another free-to-play shooter in Ubisoft's portfolio to be featured during the presentation. It was originally signed with Tom Clancy's name, but the French publisher recently dropped this solution.
The game is already after its first closed beta test, and its second session should start soon. According to Henderson, the title still needs a lot of work, and it will most likely be released in early 2023.
XDefiant is the responsibility of Mark Rubin, who previously worked on the Call of Duty series. What's interesting, members of the community assist him with the work. The game will focus on the rivalry between characters from different Ubisoft brands.
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake
During the event we will also present a remake of the most popular part of the Prince of Persia series.
A refreshed version of Sands of Time has suffered several delays, and the first trailer sparked great resentment among the fans. Apparently, the studio could present the new effects of its work. Perhaps this time the material will meet with a warmer reception.
According to Henderson, the game has undergone a major facelift compared to the version presented on the first trailer. The informer doesn't know, however, when we can expect its release. Perhaps we'll find out about it during the presentation.
A new installment of Prince of Persia
Remake of Sands of Time is not the only title associated with the iconic brand, which allegedly will appear during Ubisoft's presentation. The company is also said to be working on a completely new installment of the series.
According to Henderson, it will be a 2.5D platformer. The main inspiration for the creators of the game is to be the Ori series. Ubisoft Montpellier, the studio known for the Rayman series is to be responsible for the game.
Henderson does not know anything more about the game. We can only wait for its official announcement.
The Crew 3
According to Henderson Ubisoft will also present the next installment of The Crew. The first information about it appeared in the web last year.
We informed then that the game was to be initially titled Project Orlando and was supposed to be only a DLC to the second game. Eventually, it was transformed into a full-fledged third installment.
During the presentation we will see the effects of developers' work so far. The Crew 3 will offer a new driving model and many other improvements.
Mario Rabbids: Sparks of Hope
During the presentation there will also be something for fans of Nintendo Switch. We are talking about Mario Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, a continuation of Mario Rabbids: Kingdom Battle from 2017.
The sequel is to be more ambitious than its predecessor and offer many novelties. Many more characters will appear in the game, and the scale of danger will definitely increase.
The works on the game are going according to the schedule. It should debut on the market still this year.
Roller Champions
Roller Champions is another game that has been in development for quite some time. The title was announced back in 2019 and it is a sports game that deals with roller skating.
The game allegedly suffered a few delays, but now the work on it is heading in the right direction. During the presentation, the developers are expected to announce the release date (interestingly, not too far away).
Beyond Good and Evil 2
Beyond Good and Evil 2 is a game that seems to have been stuck in development hell for ages now. For years we received more information about it, but the release was still something extremely distant.
Ubisoft's upcoming event is supposed to be an opportunity to remind players about the title. However, it is not known whether this means that work on the game is progressing at a good pace.
Until the presentation, the game remains one big unknown. We can be sure only that Ubisoft has not abandoned the project.
Splinter Cell Remake
Splinter Cell Remake was announced at the end of last year and this information quickly stirred the imagination of fans of the series. This is another title that is expected to make an appearance at Ubisoft's presentation.
Unfortunately, according to Tom Henderson, players should not count on anything more than a CGI trailer. The game is at a very early stage of work and we cannot expect its release earlier than 2024.
Mobile games
During the event Ubisoft will also present new mobile games. Among them there will be The Division Mobile, which will debut after the release of The Division: Heartland.
In addition, Ubisoft is reportedly working on at least two other titles being developed for mobile platforms. These are expected to be tied to the publisher's top brands.
Henderson speculates that we can look forward to mobile versions of Assassin's Creed or the South Park.
