Ubisoft Plus Could be in for Major Changes [UPDATE]

Ubisoft subscriptions may soon be split into three different versions. This is indicated by a GOG survey.

Update

GOG.com sent Insider Gaming a correction on the possible division of the French company's subscriptions into tiers. It turns out that the "Ubisoft Plus Gold", "Ultimate" and "Deluxe" answers appeared in the survey by mistake. They have been corrected to the flagship Ubisoft+ and the slightly more expensive Ubisoft+ Multi Access - the latter, in addition to access to more than 100 games, offers the ability to launch up in the cloud via Amazon's Luna service (which can only be experienced by US residents).

Original message

GOG.com recently began sending newsletter subscribers invitations to participate in an anonymous survey. There would be nothing unusual about it - it mainly contains questions about the degree of satisfaction with the store - however, the answers to questions related to the possible introduction of a paid subscription on GOG were quite unusual. Indeed, they suggest that Ubisoft Plus could be in for quite a change.

The twenty-first question of this rather lengthy survey reads as follows: "Which of the following services/plans, if any, do you subscribe to?". There are more than a dozen subscriptions to choose from, such as Amazon Prime, EA Play and Humble Choice. What is surprising, there are three interesting answers among them: Ubisoft Plus Gold, Ubisoft Plus Ultimate and Ubisoft Plus Deluxe.

As is well known, Ubisoft's service offers access to more than 100 games - such as the Assassin's Creed, Far Cry or Watch Dogs series - for less than $15 per month, and so far there are tiers to this subscription. So it's possible that GOG knows that something like this is planned, although it could just as well have been some kind of slip-up in the survey.

Nevertheless, Ubisoft's new versions would not be pointless. Especially since many similar subscriptions offer a split into variants that vary in price, such as PlayStation Plus with Essential, Extra and Premium tiers. This enables each gamer to choose the offer individually - depending on what titles they want to play.

By the way until January 19, you can purchase monthly access to Ubisoft+at a dicounted price amounting to just $1. Both old and new subscribers can take advantage of the offer.
