Ubisoft Confirms Working on „Several Remakes” of Assassin's Creed
Ubisoft will create remakes of selected games from the Assassin's Creed series. Yves Guillemot, CEO of the company, confirmed work on them, which gave fans of Black Flag a lot of hope that this particular installment will be among them.
Good news for Assassin's Creed fans. Ubisoft's CEO, Yves Guillemot, confirmed in a recent interview that remakes of older installments of their best-selling series are in developement. Which ones? The company's representative did not reveal that information.
Speaking of future remakes, Guillemot used a word that might terrify or at least irritate some "Assassin's" fans. This word is "modernization". It's most likely just about the quality of the graphics, although it's not excluded that Ubisoft might be tempted to make bigger changes, for example related to the plot or mechanics.
[...] players can be excited about some remakes [of Assassin's Creed - ed. note], which will allow us [developers] to revisit some of the games we've created in the past and modernize them - said the CEO of Ubisoft.
It is also worth noting that Ubisoft wants to focus on the diversity of experience in subsequent games from the Assassin's Creed series. Additionally, Guillemot emphasized that the studio's goal is to release the games from that series more often (could this be a return to the annual publishing cycle?).
We can assume that Black Flag is among the remakes in development. Fans have been demanding a remake of this particular game for a long time, and the rumors only fuel their enthusiasm. Ubisoft has already released remasters of the most popular parts of the series - Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection was released in 2016.
This year, fans will get Assassin's Creed: Shadows. Next in line is the Hexe project, about which we can learn a bit from leaks available on the Internet.
