Two New Marvel Series Announced - Ghost Rider And Helstrom
Marvel's series collection has two news titles in preparation - a production about Ghost Rider who is a demonic spirit seeking revenge and siblings hunting for degenerates.
The end of Netflix's cooperation with Disney does not mean that in the coming years we will see fewer series based on popular superhero comics. To quite a large group of titles currently produced by Disney's own Hulu station have just been added two more, dedicated to Ghost Rider and Helstrom.
The main role in the Ghost Rider will be played by Gabriel Luna - an actor who also played this role in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series. What's interesting, it's not going to be a spin-off of that title, but a completely new story unrelated to it. Ingrid Escajeda has been selected as showrunner of the production, who previously worked as a screenwriter on A.P.B., Justified and Better Off Ted.
The plot of Ghost Rider will tell the story of Robert Reyes, who can turn into the title demon - a burning spirit that takes revenge for the innocent. The hero's opponents are not only the villains, but also himself - it will be very difficult to master the demon hidden in him and control the powers he offers.
Helstrom will be based on the adventures of the lesser-known comic book antihero Daimon Hellstrom, the son of Satan. Unfortunately, it looks like the series version will be a little less "hellish" - the description of the plot reveals that in this interpretation Daimon's father will be a "mysterious and powerful serial killer". The plot of the production will focus on the complicated dynamics between the main character and his sister Ana, who use their unique skills to chase the worst representatives of humanity. Paul Zbyszewski, the creator of the The Same Day series, who also worked as a screenwriter for Lost, became Helstrom's showrunner.
Ghost Rider and Helstrom will debut in 2020. They join a large family of other productions based on Marvel's comic books that have already appeared or will appear on the Hulu. The station created a warmly received adaptation of Runaways, and for the next few years announced the series Hit-Monkey, M.O.D.O.C. Howard the Duck, Tigra & Dazzler and The Offenders, which combines these four titles into one.
