There have been reports on the Internet about newAlien games. They show that at the moment two high-budget games set in this universe are being developed. One of them is rumored to be a sequel to Alien: Isolation.
The news comes from well-known industry insider Tom Henderson. In an article published on Insider Gaming he revealed the following revelations:
- The first title has the working name Marathon. The game is scheduled to hit current-gen consoles during the 2023 holiday season.
- Alien: Isolation is expected to see a sequel. However, the project is only in the early stages of work, or preliminary discussions. It is also unclear who would be responsible for it, but most likely it will be Creative Assembly, the creators of the original.
The source of both leaks is the same anonymous man. In the case of the first revelation, he presented a document to support his claim. For the second revelation, however, he had no proof, which is why it should be approached with more caution.
It is worth bearing in mind that on the horizon looms another game set in the Alien universe. It is an "immersive action horror" with the working title Aliens. Survios studio, which has so far specialized in minor games, is to be responsible for its development. The chance of it working on a big-budget title like the two mentioned above is therefore low.
