Almost a year ago, FromSoftware announced an expansion to Elden Ring titled Shadow of the Erdtree. Unfortunately, since that time, the developers haven't revealed any additional information about the expansion. Perhaps, however, a breakthrough in this matter is on the cards. Players' hope for this was sparked by interesting information that was recently included in the production's card on SteamDB.

One of the platform users noticed that a mysterious file called SteamDB Unknown App 2778580 was added to the Elden Ring DLC section. From an entry published by an Internet user on the ResetEra portal, we learn that although the content was created some time ago, it was only recently linked to the section of paid add-ons for the game.

Of course, it could just as well be about some other, yet unannounced content. However, if we take into account recent reports about the alleged February release of Shadow of Erdtree (via GamingBolt), the mentioned activity from FromSoftware may herald long-awaited announcement of the expansion. This also gives hope that the first trailer of the expansion will be shown soon, which will be a great material for analysis for the community.

All we have left to do is arm ourselves with patience and look out for specific information.
