Traces of VR Mode Found in GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition

Bugs, technical problems, fan disappointment, and... an unfinished mode for virtual reality goggles. GTA Trilogy does not cease to surprise.

Complaining about GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is slowly becoming a daily occurrence, despite Rockstar Games' attempts to remedy the situation. To the sea of wasted potential we can add another drop in the form of the newly discovered unfinished VR mode, which was presented on Twitter by Ben Turpin. If the video makes you think of early versions of first-person mode in GTA V, you're not alone.

The problem comes when we want to test the mode ourselves. First of all, we need to get access to the developer console (which can be achieved by using this mod) and the console command GTA.VR.1.

The reasons why the developers decided not to fully implement VR support are unknown, but fans speculate about internal competition that killed the project. The devs recently announced Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas VR on Oculus Quest 2, which would definitely not benefit from the presence of this feature in Definitive Edition. An equally likely version seems to be the lack of time to complete all elements of the trilogy, which is supported by the overall low quality of the remaster.
