Todd Howard Tested Starfield Mostly on Xbox Series S and Has Good News

Bethesda chief Todd Howard talked about his impressions of playing Starfield on the Xbox Series S, the weaker version of Microsoft's latest console.

Xbox Series S is an interesting alternative for people who want current-gen hardware for relatively little money. Sometimes, however, Microsoft's console - because of its limited capabilities - is considered a "brake" for the industry. So there has been concern about how the Xbox Series X's weaker brother will cope with Bethesda's upcoming game - Starfield. Doubts (at least in theory) were dispelled by Todd Howard.

During the What Next For Gaming event, Bethesda's boss revealed that in recent times he has been playing the highly anticipated RPG mainly on the Series S - since his children started using the more powerful variant of Microsoft's console. At the same time, he added that the game looks very good on the device.

"I received an X and S at launch. I put the Series X in the basement, where I have a large 4K TV. My kids don't let me [play on it] ... it's always occupied. So the S is upstairs... and it [Starfield] looks great on it," revealed Howard (via VGC).

And while Todd Howard's words may be uplifting for Xbox Series S owners, it's worth holding off on excessive optimism until reliable materials based on impressions from the "S" hit the web.

These will hit the Internet closer to the game's release date of September 6, 2023. Starfield will be released on PC and XSX/S. On Xbox Series X and S, it will run at 30 frames per second - on the former at 4K resolution, and on the latter at 1440p.. Here, in turn, you can check the system requirements of the PC version of the game.
