The Tearsmith (Fabbricante di lacrime) is a new Italian teen romance film on Netflix, based on the novel of the same name by Erin Doom. The film was directed by Alessandro Genovesi. The production premiered on April 4, 2024, while the book on which it was based was published in 2021 and became a bestseller in Italy a year later.
What is The Tearsmith’s plot?
Sometimes our greatest fear is accepting that someone might sincerely love us for who we are. Nica and Rigel were adopted together after a difficult childhood in an orphanage, which was not their dream scenario – they were unable to get along with each other. Over time, however, they realize that they are drawn to each other by unexpected and irresistible feelings.
Who is in the cast of The Tearsmith?
The cast of The Tearsmith includes actors who may not be familiar to audiences around the world, as many of them haven’t had big roles before, and besides, they have mostly starred in productions that are unpopular outside their home country. There are exceptions, however, as perhaps some will recognize Eco Andriolo from her role as Sister Caterina in The New Pope with Jude Law.
