The Stanley Parable and Gone Home Devs are Making a Game Together
The creators of The Stanley Parable and Gone Home have founded a new studio - Ivy Road. The soundtrack for their first project will be created by the composer of music for Minecraft.
During Annapurna Interactive's show, there were some interesting announcements. One of the more surprising pieces of information concerns the creation of a new studio, called Ivy Road, founded by Davey Wreden (responsible for The Stanley Parable or The Beginner's Guide) and Karla Zimonja (co-creator of Gone Home and Tacoma). Their first project will also involve Daniel "C418" Rosenfeld, the composer responsible for much of Minecraft's music.
During the announcement Wreden and Zimonja sipped tea from elegant crockery in a neat room full of plants. Other than the fact that Annapurna will be the publisher and the music will be composed by Daniel Rosenfeld, no other details have been given. For now, it's unclear whether the way the new project is presented has anything to do with the game itself.
This collaboration looks really promising. The Stanley Parable and The Beginner's Guide present a very innovative approach to narrative in games, and Gone Home and Tacoma offer extremely interesting stories. Combined with Rosenfeld's atmospheric music, a truly fascinating project could come out of this.
Check out the entire show below. The presentation of the new studio begins at around the 34:50 mark.
I have high hopes for Wreden and Zimonji's new studio and I believe that we can get a really special production from them. What do you think about it? Did you like their previous games?
