The Sims 4 Modder Takes a Step Towards Open World
The modders are once again taking matters into their own hands. A modification has been announced that will enable sims to swim in any body of water in The Sims 4.
The Sims 4 is one step closer to achieving the open world players dream of. A fan has decided to let the sims swim in any available water body.
Arnie Plus - "professional modder" - has been working on improving The Sims 4 for several months. Currently, his biggest project is Open Worlds Mod - a modification that will enable the sims to travel freely without having to watch loading screens. Arnie is also creating other mods, including Pro Builder (which is now available for free) and Better Maps, which will replace 2D maps with 3D models from the game.
Recently, the creator released a short video on YouTube, which shows the mod allowing for swimming and the use of boats and jet skis in any water body in the game. He also noted that this is only a demo and there are still some minor bugs, but he is working on fixing them.
It is worth noting that this is not the first mod of this kind. For a long time The Sims 4 players wanted the water to stop limiting their sims. Similar attempts were made a year ago by NeilSimming, who, because of the coronavirus, decided to take a break from modding.
On his Patreon, Arnie admitted that he owes his new career to quarantine. Due to the outbreak of the pandemic, he lost his job in March and decided to do what he likes most - creating. Together with his brother, he runs thesims.shop, where Arnie publishes his works.
Are you glad your sims won't be limited anymore? Arnie is also working on removing other inconveniences that have appeared in the fourth installment. His T.O.O.L. will allow anyone who installs the Open World mod when it becomes available to create new worlds themselves. When will it become available? Later this year.
