The Sims 4 Goes F2P; Free DLC Available
The Sims 4 is switching to a free-to-play model. The game will be available for free starting next month.
Electronic Arts has announced that The Sims 4 is changing its distribution model. Starting October 18 the title will be available for free to all who have not yet purchased the game. However, it should be borne in mind that this applies only to the base game. The DLCs will remain as premium products.
The transition to a free-to-play model applies to all platforms.: PC (EA App, Origin and Steam), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles.
At the same time, the Behind The Sims Summit event was announced, where the future of The Sims. It will take place on October 18 at 7 pm CEST and can be viewed on YouTube and Twitch.
The Sims 4 is the last so far installment of the iconic life simulator series. During the game we take control of the sims and lead them from childhood to late old age. The game gives us full freedom and enables us to do what welike. The title was released in 2014, but constantly receives updates and DLCs introducing new mechanics and content.
What's more, any owner of the basic edition of The Sims 4 can download for free the Desert Luxe kit. The offer is valid until October 17. You can find more information about this DLC here.
