The Mandalorian - Good News Concerning Season 2

Star Wars: The Mandalorian will avoid the fate of many other TV series, delayed due to the coronavirus. Its creator, Jon Favreau, has confirmed that the second season will premiere this October.

The first season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian aired last year.

Last weeks and months were filled with news of delays in various TV productions due to the coronavirus. Fortunately, we already know that Star Wars: The Mandalorian will avoid this fate. The series' creator, Jon Favreau, informed that the work is going according to plan and the premiere of season 2 will take place in October this year.

Fans expected the series to avoid a delay, as the creators managed to finish shooting before the coronavirus forced the work on many other projects to be suspended. Star Wars: The Mandalorian obviously needs a lot of special effects, but the people involved can work remotely from home. Lucasfilm and Industrial Light & Magic have developed tools to make it easier for them to continue post-production without major problems.

When discussing the upcoming second season, Favreau also revealed that it would be a direct continuation of the first, both in terms of plot and atmosphere, and not something completely new. The creators want to focus on deepening the story of already known characters, although there will also be some new faces.

In addition, Favreau suggested that he did not like the death of Bob Fett in Return of the Jedi. This is consistent with recent reports that the character will appear in the second season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian. He is to be played by Temuera Morrison, the actor who played Jango Fett (Boba is his clone) in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones.
