Two new titles have been added to the Nintendo Switch Online service. Nintendo Switch console owners can now check out the games The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, which were originally developed by Capcom-owned studio Flagship and released on Game Boy Color in 2001.

What to expect from both titles (if you haven't played them before and know absolutely nothing about them) is perfectly demonstrated by the dedicated launch trailer.

  1. In The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages the main character - Link - finds himself in the land of Labrynn and travels through various eras to stop the sorceress Veran. In The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons on the other hand, the protagonist arrives in Holodrum and is tasked with thwarting General Onoks' plans.
  2. The games use a unique feature called Linked Game, which unlocks additional features and true endings for both stories. To make use of it on the Nintendo Switch console, all you need to do is update the Game Boy app to version 1.3.0 and have saved gameplay states from both titles.
  3. Interestingly enough, Oracle of Ages boasts the title of being one of the more difficult installments of the series. Oracle of Seasons is a much easier game.
