The Game Awards 2022 Will Bring Almost 50 Game Announcements

This year's The Game Awards will bring announcements and demonstrations of nearly 50 games, as well as related movies and series. Some of these games will showcase the power of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. During The Game Awards we will see footage from almost 50 video games;
  2. The event will be held on December 9, this year.

This year's The Game Awards will present announcements and trailers for nearly 50 games. Most of them will debut in 2022 and 2023. Some of these productions will be a demonstration of the next-gen console capabilities. At least, this is what the event's organizer Geoff Keighley claims, who was recently interviewed by Epic Games.

The long interview also touched on the years to come, but we are interested in this year's edition of The Game Awards, which is scheduled for December 9, this year. During the event awards will be granted, celebrities and bands will perform, but games will remain the most important.

“You know, it's great to have celebrities, it's great to have music, but I think focusing really on games is important. Especially this year, there'll be a lot of content for 2022 and 2023 that will be showing us our kind of biggest lineup yet of world premieres and announcements."

According to Keighley, what we're going to see proves that there's a lot of power in PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and the games that are available on the market are just the beginning.

“I still feel like we've only kind of sort of touched the surface of what's possible on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, so I think you'll see some stuff in the show that is truly pretty stunning. We’ll see footage of games that will remind people that the best of this industry is still to come.”

Finally, it was also announced that trailers for films and series associated with video games will also be shown. Could this be where Sony will show the first trailer for The Last of Us?
