Original news (October 26)
Open beta of online shooter The Finals launched today. Already previous tests of this game aroused a lot of interest, and now the game- although not yet officially out - has set a new activity record on Steam. This is due to the fact that anyone who's willing to play The Finals can do so and doesn't have to wait for the developers to accept the application.
Indeed, many players were tempted to test the open beta - at peak, more than 64,000 people were playing the game on Steam. (via SteamDB). This result was achieved a few hours ago, but The Finals is still being played by tens of thousands of users.
It is worth noting that in fact, the game has attracted even more people, as the open beta is also available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Sizable part of players report problems on consoles (mainly with launching the tests), and some also have trouble with the Steam version. The developers have informed that they know of the bugs and they are expected to be fixed soon.
Open beta of The Finals is rich in content, as it offers what the closed test offers, as well as an additional map, mode and the opportunity to win more than a dozen prizes that will carry over to the full version. Among other things, players can play in three arenas, in ranked and non-ranked tournaments, and with friends playing on other platforms in cross-play.
In The Finals the most important thing is to win matches and kill other players in the most spectacular way possible to quickly gain new fans and fame. As in other typical shooters, you can use various weapons and gadgets, but these skills and the ability to spectacularly destroy elements of the environment set the game apart. Who hasn't dreamed of defeating an opponent by knocking down an entire building on him?
Open beta of The Finals will end on November 5. We do not know the release date of the full version at this time.
