The Callisto Protocol and PUBG Share The Same Universe
Yesterday, the SF horror game The Callisto Protocol was announced. Interestingly, the title is to take place in the same universe as PUBG. However, the details of their connection remain unknown.
During The Game Awards 2020 gala, the debut horror game The Callisto Protocol by Striking Distance, was announced (the devs of Dead Space series can be found in its ranks). The action of the game is to take place in 2230 in a prison located on a moon of Jupiter. What's interesting, the title was set in the same universe as the online battle royale shooter PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.
This information was confirmed by a representative of Striking Distance in a commentary for IGN. However, he did not specify how this connection will work. The announcement is particularly puzzling because the two-games are happening on different planets and seemingly have no points in common. Actually, the clearest link between The Callisto Protocol and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is the publisher of both games - Krafton. At this point, we can only wait until the developers decide to reveal more details.
The Callisto Protocol is expected to hit PC and unspecified consoles in 2022.
