Techtonica is a game currently in early access, in which we will come to explore an alien planet, collect resources and create large, often complex factories. A very important role in the game is played by various technologies, which, however, are not fully understood by some players. In this guide you will learn, what Core Clustering is in Techtonica and where to find it.

What is Core Clustering in Techtonica

With Core Clustering, you can utilize unused Reseach Cores to create Core Clusters. In the case of Blue Cores, it is a ratio of 5:1, and for Purple - 10:1. Having 200 Purple Cores will give you 20 Core Clusters. The current number of unassigned cores can be seen in the lower left corner of the technology tree.

However, in order for Core Clusters to bring bonuses, it is necessary to develop your Tech Tree. You will learn the relevant research in the Science tab, located above Core Clustering. Currently, there are five Core Boost technologies, and when they are activated, Core Clusters will immediately add the bonuses they provide.

For example, if you activate a Core Boost (Smelting) technology, it will increase the speed of all Smelters in the game by 0.25% for each Core Cluster you own. In practice, this will work so that if you own 20 Core Clusters you will get a 5% increase in the speed of Smelters (20 x 0.25%).

In addition, it is worth mentioning that currently, you do not have to choose or assign which Core Clusters work with a given upgrade. You can receive bonuses from all the technologies you manage to activate.

Finally, it should also be noted that the described function is currently under development, and its operation is likely to change in the future.

Where to find Core Clustering in Techtonica

Core Clustering can be found by exploring the map. The technology is located in Barracks behind one of the doors. This location is not part of the main storyline, so some players may have trouble finding it if they focus solely on the story.

The corresponding location can be found on this map. Just select Facilities in the menu on the left and look at the place at the very top in the middle, which is signed as Living Quarters.. To its left you will find Core Clustering marked in the form of a green key. On the map it is Q4 square.
