Team Fortress 2 Got a Feature Discouraged Even by Valve
Team Fortess 2 has received another update from Valve. It includes fixes from a Polish player, as well as a feature that the developers themselves do not recommend using.
Team Fortress 2 has received another update, in which, as in this recent one, there were several suggestions from the community of the iconic FPS. Interestingly, the developers decided to introduce a feature into the gameplay that they themselves do not recommend.
Team Fortress 2 and a new record on Steam
Team Fortress 2 hit Steam in 2007. Recently, after many years of hiatus, the game received a sizable update from Valve. As a result, the iconic shooter was revived and set a new activity record - it currently stands at nearly 254,000 users.
It's no surprise, then, that Valve decided to introduce a new update to Team Fortress 2 with another batch of new features and improvements. You can find the full list of changes on Steam - we will cite only a few of them.
Team Fortress 2 - the latest update
Speaking of new features added to the game, it is necessary to start with a feature referred to as "-unrestricted_maxplayers". It enables the players to compete in battles consisting of up to 100 users - Valve itself, however, advises against using this option, indicating that it will not be supported (read: developed) in the future.
In addition, the update also introduces:
- fix for a bug in Mann vs Machine mode, which enabled robots to be eliminated when they respawned;
- fix for a bug loading sound scripts on maps from Steam Workshop (a fix from a player known as ficool2);
- fix for a bug in game_ui that caused a player to be ejected (this fix also came from ficool2);
- fix for a bug in the teleportation effect (also thanks to ficool2).
Devs also fixed bugs in several maps. Below are details for Cascade and Phoenix, but arenas such as Altitude, Steel, Distillery, Tinyrock, Nucleus and Skirmish are also included.
Changes to Cascade include:
- fixes to player movement and projectiles;
- visual fixes;
- fixes to the location of supply caches.
Changes to Phoenix, on the other hand, are:
- increasing the recovery time on "D" from 8 to 9 seconds;
- fixing the trajectory of projectiles around the elevator;
- fixing a bug causing the cart to get stuck under the elevator;
- visual fixes.
This update from Valve delivers further fixes and changes that should again attract many fans. It will be implemented automatically when the game is restarted.
