What is Synthesis in Atelier Ryza 3
To put it simply, it is the process of mixing ingredients in order to obtain various useful items – crafting. You can use them later in many ways.
To complete the process, you need a recipe and ingredients. You start with some useful blueprints, it is possible to obtain more by leveling and unlocking them during synthesis by using special ingredients (this method is only available in some special cases).
Synthesis in Atelier Ryza 3 – basic terminology
- Material Loops – these are places where you can put ingredients.
- Core ingredient loops – slots which are obligatory to fill in order to complete the recipe.
- Elements – ingredients are connected with fire, ice, bolt and air. It is also important to notice that materials have different values of elemental saturation.
- Recipe – a “blueprint”, without it you can’t create an item. You can get them by leveling and unlocking new skills or Recipe morph.
- Recipe Morph – some recipes have various variants. You can unlock them if you fulfill special requirements, among them is having a given ingredient. If you manage to unlock the proper Material Loop in the recipe, you will be able to create a different item. After this, it will be possible to synthesize a new object from the recipe menu (you will not have to morph it again).
- Trait – these slots can transfer some traits of ingredients to an item you want to create.
- Quantity – you can see it at the top of the screen, it is an amount od ingredients which you can use in the recipe.
How to complete Synthesis
- Interact with the cauldron in your Atelier (also known as Hideout).
- Pick the recipe.
- Add proper ingredients; you have to fill places for basic effects (Core Ingredient Loops), they are bigger than the rest.
- There are different types of materials which are suited in each place. You can’t put anything in the slot.
- Fill Effect slots with ingredients which have proper elements (fire, ice, bolt, air). By doing so you will unlock trait slots.
- If you unlock trait slots you will be able to transfer some traits of ingredients to the item you create.
- If you are satisfied with the result, you may finish the process. You will also end it if you use all your Quantity points.
