Sad news came from Paris. Microids announced that the well-known and award-winning creator of adventure games and comic books, Benoît Sokal, passed away yesterday, after a long illness. The artist would have celebrated his 67th birthday in next month.

Fans of digital entertainment may remember Sokal primarily as the father of the iconic Syberia series (its upcoming installment, Syberia: The World Before, was the last game the Belgian worked on). Moreover, he was involved in the creation of such titles as Amerzone or Sinking Island. When it comes to comic books, the artist was mostly recognized for his series about Inspector Canardo - an anthropomorphic duck who is a private detective.
