Sword of Convallaria (SoC) - Beryl Build, Deadly Mage

Not everyone enjoys theory crafting, scrolling through patch notes and playing a meta-game of creating the best possible build. What seems to be often a domain of aRPGs like Path of Exile (which recently got a very warmly received update), crept up to other games. Sword of Convallaria maybe isn’t the most complex title when it comes to developing a character, yet no one ever frowned upon some guidance or at least an inspiration on how to make a viable build. If you have rolled Beryl, here you will learn how to make her a Deadly Mage.

Beryl is one of the characters which are worth rerolling, she is also very high on our tier list. Because of that we have prepared a Deadly Mage build for her in Sword of Convallaria. It can be especially useful considering that the game does not feature respec (or skill tree reset), so you have only one shot at it. You can use a special currency, called Castalia, to buy other skills from the tree, though.
Since we are going for full offence, to make the most of the power that Beryl offers, we can immediately reject any healing abilities that the skill tree offers. That leaves us with the following:
- RK 1 – Wall of Flame (left),
- RK 3 – NRG Restoration (right),
- RK 5 – Cutie (right),
- RK 7 – Flaming Meteor (left),
- RK 9 – Scorching Attack (left),
- RK 11 – BOOOOOM! (left).
Beryl shines when it comes to AOE damage. Combine that with her passive skill increasing her magic attack and she will wreak utter havoc on the battlefield, clearing groups of adversaries with ease. You can add to this deadly combo Guidance of the World Tarot, to boost your NRG restoration even further. Her various attack patterns will make her useful in fights complimenting every team composition you go for.
