Surviving Mars Changes Developers, New Updates Announced
Rumors about the death of the space strategy game Surviving Mars were greatly exaggerated. The game has been passed to another developer and will continue to be developed. A new update will be released tomorrow, and another expansion is also planned.
Surviving Mars, an economic strategy game in which we build and manage the first Martian colony, has been handed over to a different developer. Until now, the title was handled by Haemimont Games (the Tropico series), but currently the team from Abstraction Games is taking care of the game's development. This means that after many months of waiting, fans of setting up colonies on Mars will receive the desired updates.
Tomorrow, a new update for the game will be released, focusing on changes to tourism. Tourists visiting the player's colony will be able to rate it. The higher the score obtained through reviews, the more rewards and other benefits will the player receive. A few options will also be added to increase satisfaction among guests.
The publisher of the game, Paradox, has teamed up with internet user known as Silva, who has been creating various mods to Surviving Mars for almost 3 years. The add-on will introduce 8 new residential and public buildings. DLC will cost 4.99 Euro and will also be available tomorrow on Steam.
The creators announced, via PC Gamer, that this is not the end of the game's development and this year will see the release of a new expansion, which will be created entirely by Abstraction. The last addition, made by the original developers, was Green Planet released in mid-2019. Paradox also announced that the game sold over 5 million copies in total .
If you haven't played Surviving Mars so far, you have the opportunity to do so this week, as the game is available for free on Epic Games Store until Thursday.
