Suicide Squad From Batman: Arkham Devs Delayed
It looks like Warner Bros. won't be able to avoid delays in the video game market this year. All because of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, whose release is said to have been delayed.
Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy are to be released as planned this year, contrary to recent rumors. Unfortunately, another WarnerMedia game will apparently be delayed. As reported by Bloomberg, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League from Rocksteady Studios will debut only in 2023.
Perhaps this shouldn't come as a surprise. After all, when Jason Kilar, president of WarnerMedia, mentioned the games' 2022 releases, he showed artworks from Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy - but not Suicide Squad. Based on this one could presume that also MultiVersus and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga hase been delayed, while the latter already has a release date.
For now, the publisher has not confirmed this information, so - although it comes from a very reliable source - for now it's better to treat it as a rumor. If it's true, however, Rocksteady fans may be disappointed. After all, the studio's last title to date was the culmination the Batman saga, which was released in 2015.
The fact that we will have to wait another year for the studio's new project after seven years of waiting may be a bitter pill to swallow. At least gamers can console themselves that since the announcement in 2020, they have received two trailers - those waiting for Hogwarts Legacy have reasons for envy.
Bloomberg did not provide a reason for the delay. We can only guess that Rocksteady is another studio affected by COVID-19 and the restrictions enforced by the coronavirus. Either that or the development of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League turned out to be more troublesome than anticipated.
