Dragon Age Director Shows Teaser for New RPG Stray Gods
David Gaider (the Dragon Age series) reminded us about his new game. After more than two years we got a short trailer, a new title, a publisher and a handful of screenshots on Steam.
David Gaider kept us waiting a long time for more footage from his new project. Only now director of the Dragon Age series has presented a teaser trailer of the musical RPG Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, starring Laura Bailey, Troy Baker and Greek mythology in modern times. You can watch the video below.
Probably the title doesn't mean anything to you. The game first appeared in media in 2019, but until recently it had a different name. Back in December 2020, the project was known as Chorus: An Adventure Musical.
Chorus / Stray Gods will be even bigger than expected
The title change was announced along with the news of a partnership with publisher Humble Games. This will enable the developers to expand Stray Gods, which in turn will translate into more dialogues and recording them all with actors.
Although the new trailer includes first (and not very long) footage from the game since the modest gameplay (or rather, a short fragment thereof), for the last two years the creators have been eager to provide information on Stray Gods at Fig.com. The developers regularly published posts about pre-alpha tests or presented concep arts.
Stray Gods - when will it launch?
Unfortunately, the teaser did not bring the most awaited information - the release date.
- Summerfall Studios promised only to share more details about Stray Gods "later this year".
- Moreover, Fig.com mentions that the creators are just beginning to record the songs (written for the game by the band Tripod), which in itself is expected to take "some time".
- As a consolation Stray Gods already has its own tab on Steam, where you can find new screenshots from the game. You can also add the title to your wishlist, which is more than can be said for Dragon Age IV, still being "in mid-production".
