New Features on Steam Will Make Finding Games Easier

Valve has introduced more changes to Steam. This time the platform received new features related to game search.

Valve continues to develop its digital distribution platform. After four months of testing, Steam has made changes to the store's browsing options. The novelties were discussed in an announcement available on Steam's official website.

Valve's main goal was to make it easier for us to find items of interest. This was achieved, for example, by expanding the category section, in which, in addition to genres, we can choose a theme we are interested in (horror, space, anime, etc.) and "player support". The latter simply means the ability to play with others, so we can distinguish single player games, network and local multiplayer titles, co-op games, etc. Special sections have also appeared, including demos, free games, early access, soundtracks, controller-friendly titles and... games for internet cafes. Most of these features function as tags, enabling us to narrow down our searches on Steam.

Valve has also introduced additional views, accessible through the "New and Noteworthy" section, among others. Each of them is a separate page, showing new titles gaining popularity, bestsellers or most played and rated items. Here we can also limit the search results to one of the popular tags in a given category. More information about the new features can be found in the announcement on Steam.
