Upcoming Sales and Events on Steam in Detail

We've learned the dates and other details of the upcoming events on Steam. Open World Sale will launch this Thursday, while the Steam Next Festival and Steam Summer Sale are scheduled for June.

Valve announced the dates and other details of upcoming sales and events that will take place on Steam. The first of them awaits us already next week. Open World Sale will take place on May 27-31. As the name suggests, we can expect discounts on sandbox games. After that, the Steam Next Festival (formerly the Steam Games Festival) will take place. The event will begin on June 16 and will last 6 days, until June 22. As before, we will be able to play hundreds of demos of upcoming titles and ask some questions to the developers. There will also be another edition of the Steam Summer Sale which is scheduled to start at the end of June.

Valve announced that in October we can expect another edition of the Steam Next Festival. The company also summarized the changes that have been introduced to the store recently. Some of them - such as a new way of displaying details of game updates or UTM analysis (Urchin Tracking Module, i.e. a tool that enables to track which URLs are actually clicked by customers) - were addressed rather to developers, while others, such as Remote Play Together, were mainly for gamers. At the same time, we learned some interesting statistics. Did you know, for example, that controllers are currently used in over 10% of sessions each day? Or that the number of game patch notes has more than doubled since January 2021, and the number of titles for which developers post the information has increased by as much as 70%? If not, you do now. Full summary of the last months can be found here.

We will remind you about the above events and sales. Remember that all such events on Steam usually begin and end at 10:00 AM PT.
