Starfield Rated; We Know What Will Not Appear in the Game
Starfield won't be released until September, but that didn't stop Bethesda's game from receiving the game's first age rating. A surprising verdict?
According to the Australian Classification Commission, which evaluates movies, publications and video games, the upcoming RPG Starfield deserved an "R" rating. In practice, this means that upon the time of release, Bethesda's game will be unsuitable for people under 18 years of age.
So what does the game contain that the officials decided to give it such a high rating? Sex, hectoliters of blood? Vulgarities that would put hobos to shame? Well the main factor determining the rating was - whatever that means - "interactive drug use."
However, this does not mean that Starfield will lack the aforementioned elements. Well, except maybe sex - we can not count on amorous raptures with aliens. (although the lack of intimate scenes in a Bethesda game is hardly surprising). According to the commission's report mild nudity, strong violence and vulgarity will appear in the game..
The Australian rating also introduced some confusion, as in the same report we learn that the title is headed for the... Xbox One console. However, this is most likely just an error. The long-awaited RPG will go to PCs and - contrary to what the Classification Committee in Australia believes - only to Xbox Series X/S consoles on September 6, 2023.
