Amazon Claims Starfield Preload Will Launch Soon
According to one listing that appeared on the US Amazon, the preload of Starfield is expected to begin in just a few days.
It is no secret knowledge that Starfield from Bethesda will be a game of impressive scope. However, if anyone doubted it, let me remind you that according to data on Steam the PC version of the game will "weigh" about 125 GB.
And while this is not the caliber of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, downloading such an amount of data may involve the prospect of waiting several hours for some players. And if we take into account the fact that almost every Bethesda fan would like to start playing the game at the time of release, quite a problem arises.
In such a case, preloading, i.e. pre-downloading the game's files, may prove to be a salvation. Unfortunately, despite the RPG's imminent debut, Bethesda has not yet revealed when this feature will launch.
As usual in such cases, Internet users turned out to be helpful, who spotted on the English-language version of the Amazon store an offer concerning a set of Xbox Series S consoles with the aforementioned game. Interestingly, in the description of the product it is stated that the preload of Starfield will launch as early as August 9.
Is this just a mistake, or is it a real date? It would be strange if Bethesda kept quiet about the preload three days before its launch, but the industry has seen more than its share of such cases.
So we can't help but expect official information from the developers.
Starfield will debut on September 6 on Xbox Series X/S consoles and PCs. Those who purchase the premium edition of the game will be able to play it up to five days earlier. The game will also simultaneously hit Game Pass.
