Starfield at 30 FPS on Consoles; Todd Howard Confirms Performance
Starfield has clearly become more beautiful since last year's presentation. The price for this, however, may be difficult for many console gamers to accept.
The biggest star of yesterday's Xbox Games Showcase was Starfield. Everyone expected it to be a major production, but nevertheless the quality of the project presented was a pleasant surprise. However, Bethesda would not be itself if it did not leave a fly in the ointment.
- In an interview with IGN, Bethesda's head Todd Howard admitted that Starfield will only run at 30 frames per second on consoles.
- Such a decision was made because the developers did not want to sacrifice visual detail to achieve greater performance.
- As a result, on Xbox Series X the game will run at 30 frames in full 4K, and on the Xbox Series S it will also run at 30 fps, but at 1440p. No alternative performance mode will appear.
- Of course, this limitation applies only to the console version. On PC, the game will be able to run at higher fps, as long as we have hardware powerful enough to handle it.
Starfield has beautified
It's easy to believe Todd Howard's words that the decision on the 30 fps limit was made because of the desire for prettier graphics in Startfield - many sections of the game have become significantly more beautiful compared to last year's show.
This can be seen well in the above comparison - the same location now has noticeably more objects and details. Lighting has also been improved.
Facelift was given also to the characters, which now look more natural.
On Reddit you can find a noteworthy set of screenshots from yesterday's videos, which show well the beauty of this game
Starfield is heading to PC, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. The release will take place on September 6, this year The game will also be available on Game Pass, both on PC and Xbox consoles.
