During yesterday's Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, we've seen the first gameplay from Starfield - the space RPG from Bethesda Softworks.
According to the announcement, Starfield is to offer players a lot of attractions - from exploration of thousands of planets, including both inhospitable wastelands and bustling cities, through the exciting combat, to the design of our spaceship and base.

No Man's Starfield?
A comparison of Starfield to No Man's Sky can be seen in the following material published by IGN:
Indeed, some elements shown in the gameplay look similar, such as building bases or even exploration. However, is calling Starfield No Man's Sky 2 (as in in this case) justified?
Similar, but different
To answer this question a well-known informant Tom Henderson, who replied to the comparison of Starfield and No Man's Sky with a dose of irony:
- Since both games deal with similar (roughly speaking) themes, they can be juxtaposed and compared one to one, right?
- Although the similarities between No Man's Sky and Bethesda's upcoming game do exist, it seems that Starfield will strike a different tone than Hello Games' creation from 2016.
- For example: instead of millions of galaxies to traverse, like NMS, Starfield will offer 1,000 planets to explore.
- In addition, Bethesda's game is announced as an RPG, so we can expect a much stronger emphasis on the story quests, role playing character progression.
More similarities and differences will be certainly appear with the publication of further trailers and fragments of gameplay. The full picture will be revealed in 2023, when Starfield's premiere is scheduled on PC and XSX/S.
