Stardew Valley Remains Without Update 1.6 as Dev Focuses on New Game

Update 1.6 for Stardew Valley will have to wait. That's because developer Eric „ConcernedApe” Barone is busy working on a new title that may be announced soon.

If you were hoping for a quick release of update 1.6 after 1. 5, which added the Ginger Island location to Stardew Valley, then we have bad news for you. Game developer Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone is not planning to release any patch in the near future, because - as he stated - he is too busy working on a new game. Barone admitted this in an interview with Zach "UnsurpassableZ" Hartman via Twitch (see video below).

It should come as no surprise that Barone has decided to take on a new project - after all, he's been working on Stardew Valley for almost 10 years. What will his next game be?

"Maybe I'll announce it soon. Right now nobody but me knows. What I can tell you is that it will feature a top-down perspective and pixel-art graphics, just like Stardew Valley. It's similar in that respect, but don't expect a farming game. This will be something different."

What exactly? Well, we have to be patient and wait for more information. Fans of Stardew Valley should not despair, because Barone did not completely ruled out further updates to the game. What's more, the title will soon be available in Xbox Game Pass, so there's a good chance that this will bring more players. Maybe this will make the creator rethink the issue of further patches?
