Stardew Valley Update 1.6 Releases Today. Dev Publishes Latest Teaser With Major New Feature
Today, Stardew Valley will finally receive the highly anticipated 1.6 update. Eric Barone revealed more information about it, including a final teaser with a major new feature.
Today, update 1.6 for Stardew Valley will be released. Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone confirmed that it will happen sometime during the day, but didn't specify the exact time. So it can be assumed that the premiere will take place no earlier than 7:00 AM (via X).
If you play on Steam and don't want to switch to the new patch yet, the devr has prepared a public beta version of Stardew Valley 1.5.6 (available through the game's "Properties," in the "Beta" tab). Barone also confirmed that most mods are now compatible with update 1.6. The developer recommends playing without them, but leaves the decision in the hands of the players.
Before the new patch is released, it's worth mentioning the likely final "teaser" published by Barone. As per the announcements, patch 1.6 will introduce a new type of farm: Meadowland Farms (via X). The player will begin on this kind of farm with two chickens and a chicken coop, which should be distinguished by its blue grass ("loved by animals").
Even earlier and locally (seemingly) much more banal changes excited SV fans. So it's easy to guess what interest the new farm aroused. Players were not only intrigued by the blue grass (which may be more challenging to "digest" and almost certainly increases the satisfaction of the animals) but also by the instant access to eggs.
Many people point out that this novelty explains the dev's earlier advice that players should start playing again. Barone reassured that there would be no need to check most of the new content, but it seems that some of the new features will only be visible when playing from the beginning.
The developer has certainly not disclosed all the attractions that are coming to Stardew Valley (although we also have information about new festivals and co-op for a maximum of eight people on PC). Fans are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to check out version 1.6 in the comfort of their own homes. Presumably, along with the release of the update, the dev will publish a full list of changes.
