Stardew Valley 2 Possible
Developer ConcernedApe is currently busy working on a 1.5 patch for Stardew Valley and is not thinking about the future of the franchise. However, the chances for getting made Stardew Valley 2 are good... same as the original receiving patch 1.6 and more.
- Eric Barone has revealed that he is currently focusing on update 1.5 for Stardew Valley, so he is not worried about the future of the franchise;
- The said future could bring both more patches for the original and Stardew Valley 2;
- In the meantime, the developer is working alone on other projects, which remain a mystery for now.
Although it's been four years since the launch of Stardew Valley, Eric Barone continues to develop his project, regularly delivering free packages of new content. Game Informer has asked some questions to ConcernedApe, as the developer is known, trying to find out what are the plans for the development of the brand he's started. As it turns out, Barone is so busy working on the latest update, number 1.5, that he doesn't bother thinking about what will happen next. In his opinion, the future may bring both patch 1.6 (and subsequent ones) and a second installment. At the time of writing these words, it is only certain thatStardew Valley's life will not end after the upcoming update.
Let's give the floor to the man himself:
“I will say that I definitely love Stardew Valley. (...) I don’t think [1.5] will be the end of Stardew Valley. I would not be surprised if there’s another Stardew Valley update, or multiple updates, or a Stardew Valley 2. Who knows?"
For now, however, Barone has other things on his mind, as he says, apart from the 1.5 update, he is working on several other projects:
"There’s isn’t currently a Stardew Valley 2; after 1.5, I’ll decide what the next step for Stardew Valley is. But I would say there will probably be another step for Stardew Valley. In the meantime, I’m also working on a couple of new projects – solo projects – so I have plenty to do.”
And what projects are we talking about? As we have known from February, the action of one of them will be set in the universe created for Barone's hit, but it won't be an agricultural RPG. The second one, on the other hand, is supposed to be to some extent connected with the developer's first work, but at the moment it is not clear whether it will take us to the same or a completely different world.
Meanwhile, millions of Stardew Valley fans have no choice but to wait for patch 1.5. In the same interview, Barone revealed that he has to be careful when making changes in the game. He doesn't want to implement any news that would shock players returning to the title after a long break. But as he argues, the patch will bring "a few new things" that will be a good reason to play Stardew Valley again, while enjoying a "fresh experience". Although it's not known at the moment when the update will be released, they can enjoy a fresh screenshot of the new content published by Barone last weekend.
