- New expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic got delayed;
- Legacy of the Sith will debut only on February 15, 2022;
- Developers need more time to bring the DLC to a satisfactory condition.
Almost half a year ago BioWare announced that it's not planning to end support for Star Wars: The Old Republic and the MMO will receive further expansions. The first of the new DLCs was to be Legacy of the Sith. The devs wanted its debut to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the game's release. Unfortunately, we already know that this will not happen.
The release of the DLC has been pushed back from December 14 to February 15, 2022. The decision was announced by project manager Keith Kanneg, who explained that the expansion requires additional work before it is made available to players.
"Legacy of the Sith is something the team has been hard at work on for quite a while but as we get ever closer to launch, it is clear that we need a bit more time. We’re focusing additional testing on the many areas we have changed throughout the game to deliver the experience we want, and one that you deserve."
Kanneg also mentioned that public tests were very helpful for the team and a lot of useful information was gathered thanks to them. These will help to bring the DLC to a satisfactory condition both for the developers and the players.
Legacy of the Sith will focus on the character of Darth Malgus, who after the events in the Meridian complex acts on his own, carrying out a mysterious plan. The plot of the expansion will take us, among others, to planets Manaan and Elom, where we'll find the ruins of a mysterious Sith stronghold, full of various secrets.
