SWTOR Update to Improve Criticized Legacy of The Sith DLC
Star Wars: The Old Republic is set to receive an update, improving the criticized Legacy of The Sith expansion. In addition, the creative director of SWTOR is leaving BioWare.
The anticipated SWTOR expansion titled Legacy of The Sith was not met with a warm reception from the community. The expansion to the Star Wars MMORPG was criticized for, among other things, the time needed to complete it (only 2-4 hours). Regarding the February fiasco, the developers have announced that on August 2 the game will see an update, adding a couple of new features to Legacy of The Sith.
Update 7.1
August update for SWTOR is expected to improve the Legacy of The Sith expansion, fix a few bugs and introduce new content. Below we list the most important new features that the update will bring.
- There will be a new daily quest line available to both Republic and Empire supporters, set on the water planet Maanan.
- A a new Operation for parties of eight players.
- The Outfitter weapon customization option recently added to the game will be improved.
- There will be new key information about Darth Malgus and about the Sith Lord whose relics Malgus seeks.
Legacy of The Sith, which is the seventh expansion for SWTOR, was released in conjunction with the game's 10th anniversary (which it celebrated in December 2021). The DLC is only available to SWTOR subscribers. You can learn more about it at this link.
BioWare says goodbye to Charles Boyd
Along with the news about the update for SWTOR the devs informed of the departure of the game's creative director, Charles Boyd. He worked for the company for 16 years and played a significant role in the success of SWTOR. Boyd is expected to leave BioWare on August 5, just a few days after update 7.1 goes Live. Charles Boyd bid farewell to the team by sharing a short farewell letter. He emphasized that working on SWTOR meant a lot for him as a longtime fan of Star Wars and was a great experience.
"SWTOR will see more exciting new features in the future - stories, planets, gameplay, characters, and I'm already looking forward to them. I look forward to experiencing it all with the rest of the fans. (...) I may be walking away from the project, but The Old Republic will never leave my heart."
