New Patch for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Doesn't Fix Much and Causes Additional Problems
Respawn Entertainment has released the sixth patch for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. However, the update did not deal with performance issues, and in addition... it apparently broke one of the game's elements.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has received another, sixth update, which yesterday became available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Players have been complaining that the developers not only failed to deal with the performance issues, but also.... broke one element of the game. But let's go one step at a time.
Patch 6 for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - fixes.
Respawn Entertainment has prepared a number of fixes, among which leading the way are:
- fixes for various bugs causing crashes on various platforms;
- fix for a bug blocking the appearance of bounty hunter;
- fix for a bug causing invisibility of Caij;
- fix for a bug preventing the completion of "Find the Gorge's Secret" Rumor.
In addition, the devs focused on the handling of blasters, the photo mode and the wind puzzle on Jedz. In addition, the training dummy on the latter planet was disabled and the holomap data was updated.
Unsatisfied players
The above list looks pretty solid, however, as players on Reddit point out , the update does not solve all the problems.
"The game still has performance issues on the console. There is screen tearing at the top of the screen if you move the camera quickly, the frame rate can drop quite a bit near water, even in quality mode or during cut-scenes, and there are plenty of visual glitches, such as UI elements that stay visible longer than they should. The game needed more time (...)," writes PBFT.
Another user, donovan 4893, points out the developers' sluggishness:
"The fact that it took them so long to fix the bounty hunter bug is abnormal."
The latest update also causes... new problems. As user Lo_Pez notes:
"The patch has completely broken the holomap. It simply doesn't open anymore. In a game like this, this kind of bug makes it unplayable."
In an official announcement the developers promise that they are "working hard to improve the gameplay in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor". Players complaining about the game's condition, therefore, have no choice but to wait for the next patches, the release dates of which will see the light of day "as soon as they are determined."
