Standalone Version of Red Dead Online Coming in December
At the beginning of next month a standalone version of Red Dead Redemption 2;s multiplayer mode will debut on consoles and PCs, enabling us to have fun on the Internet without having a full version of the game. Until mid-February next year Red Dead Online will be sold at a special price.
Rockstar prepared a new surprise for Red Dead Redemption fans. However, it is not the announcement of the anticipated remaster of the first installment or news about a possible story expansion. The developer has decided to release Red Dead Online in a standalone version, originally the multiplayer mode of Red Dead Redemption 2, on December 1. The game will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as on PCs, where we will buy it on Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store and Rockstar Games Launcher.
Until February 15, next year, the suggested price of Red Dead Online will be 75 percent lower - $4.99. Owners of the standalone version of the multiplayer mode will be given access to all its content and all past and future updates and will be able to play with the owners of Red Dead Redemption 2. However, a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold subscription is still required to launch the title on consoles.
The devs foresee the option of buying RDR2's story campaign separately, but the price is not yet known. With the campaign, Red Dead Online will take up to 123GB of free space on consoles and PCs. Let's add that at the beginning of December the game will also receive a new update expanding the role of bounty hunters, which will offer them more criminals to track down and catch, as well as a portion of new skills, equipment and ranks.
