STALKER 2 is Powered by Unreal Engine 5
The developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl have confirmed that it is being powered by the latest version of the Unreal Engine, which was first introduced to the world last year.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, which will be released on PC, Xbox Series X|S in late April next year, is one of the most anticipated releases of the upcoming months. The devs from GSC Game World have just revealed the secret and informed on Twitter that the game is powered by Unreal Engine 5. This is the latest version of the extremely popular engine among developers, which was first presented to the world last year. Until now we could see its capabilities mainly in impressive tech demos.
Of course, the news about the use of Unreal Engine 5 is not a big surprise for people who follow the game's development on a regular basis. In 2020, the devs confirmed that they would use the engine from Epic Games, but did not specify at the time which version. However, the absence of the game on last-generation consoles and promol materials, including gameplay video, indicated quite clearly that the developers decided to reach for the new version of the technology.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl will be released on April 28, 2022 on PC and Xbox Series X|S. The game is also expected to be available from launch on the Xbox Game Pass service. Let's add that in June we got to know its PC system requirements.
