STALKER 2 Devs do Not Expect Further Delays
It looks like the rumors about the launch of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 being delayed to next year are probably false. Studio's representative assured that the developers do not expect any further delays. Maybe soon we will see another gameplay video.
The launch of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl was originally scheduled for April 28, 2022. A few weeks ago we were informed that it has been delayed to December 8. This led to a lot of speculation that also this deadline would not be kept.
Rumors
Thus, according to rumors, the game would be released in 2023. These hearsays were fueled by unconfirmed reports from GSC Game World (developers of the game), according to which the team is to have problems with the Unreal Engine 5 technology that powers the title. Such information was reported by a well-known Eastern youtube channel XGTV.
Release not threatened (in theory)
GSC's community relations manager, who operates on Discord under the handle Stravenger, answered when one of the fans asked whether there won't be any more delays:
"We have an official release date. No changes are planned in this regard."
When is the next gameplay coming?
Another GSC representative - known as Mol1t - shared this message in early February:
"(...) We understand and share your curiosity [about how the gameplay ifromSTALKER 2 - ed. note]; we think you'll enjoy the next video."
- March 20th is the 15th anniversary of of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl - the first installment of the series. It is quite likely that on that day we will see some new footage from Heart of Chernobyl.
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is scheduled for release on December 8 on PC and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
